Waterproofing rating 5000 mm
When the weather gets bad and you're wondering what on earth you're doing outdoors, the main thing is to stay dry. We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood by the fabric, the more waterproof it is. Components scoring 5000 mm can resist the pressure from 5000 mm of water (which is roughly equivalent to heavy rain over 3 hours).Shower test: 30cm of water over 3 hours.
Water repellent properties
A fabric is water-repellent when water slides off the surface of the fabric, without seeping in. As a result, the fabric does not soak up water and remains light, breathable and warm. Fabric is rendered water-repellent by applying a treatment to the outer surface. We recommend that this treatment, which must be repeated during the life of the garment, be done after each wash. Products designed for this purpose are available in our stores.
A score to compare the environmental impact of products.
The product's environmental impacts are calculated over its whole lifecycle using various indicators. An ABCDE score is attributed to help you identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks). Decathlon is a voluntary participant in this environmental labelling initiative. For more info: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
